Privacy policy

Steel & Sovereigns is a history learning app for iPhone. We built it to collect as little as possible. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising and no tracking.

What stays on your iPhone

Your lesson progress, XP, streaks and settings are stored only on your device. They are never sent to us, and we can't see them. Deleting the app deletes them.

The narration and paintings are built into the app. Apart from subscriptions (below), the app doesn't connect to any server of ours or anyone else's.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, your Apple ID or your payment details.

We use RevenueCat to check purchases and tell the app what you've unlocked. To do that, RevenueCat receives:

• an anonymous ID created by the app, which isn't linked to your name or Apple ID
• your purchase and subscription history for Steel & Sovereigns
• basic device information: iOS version, app version, and your country or App Store region

RevenueCat handles this data under its own privacy policy. Apple's handling of App Store purchases is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

What we don't do

• No ads, and no advertising or analytics tools in the app.
• No tracking across other apps or websites.
• No selling or sharing of your data.

This website

steelandsovereigns.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no sign-up forms. It's hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads. See Google's privacy policy.

Children

The app isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices

You can delete your progress at any time by deleting the app, and you can manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone's Settings. If you'd like the purchase records RevenueCat holds for your copy of the app deleted, or you have any other question about your data, email us and we'll help.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date at the top.
